OLD SONG - NEW ROLE!

ON FEBRUARY 21-22, 2024, THE 51ST INDOOR ATHLETICS HUNGARIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS WERE HELD. AFTER 5 YEARS AS A FEDERATION/ORGANIZER PHOTOGRAPHER, THIS YEAR I WAS PRESENT FOR THE FIRST TIME AS AN EXTERNAL PHOTOGRAPHER FOR SPORTS CLUBS. I KNOW THE EVENT FROM THE INSIDE OUT, YET MANY TIMES I FELT LIKE I WAS ATTENDING FOR THE FIRST TIME.
Hello, Dear Visitor!

This was my first time photographing an indoor track event from outside the track, which initially appeared to be a challenging circumstance, as it was evident that I would have to focus on several aspects simultaneously. My assignment required me to capture the competitors of the Gödöllő University Athletics Club the Győr Athletics Club with the utmost detail. In hindsight, being only on the outside turned out to be an actual advantage. Instead of constantly moving around, I could work in one "direction," which significantly improved efficiency. However, as a federation photographer, I was never forced to use multiple cameras and several remote cameras simultaneously, all with online connectivity.

It was an entirely new kind of competition experience, having to focus exclusively on my clubs' competitors. Thus, I had to cover a smaller slice of the competition's events, but in much more detail. Additionally, it was a unique experience to openly cheer for my athletes. While I became an outsider in terms of organizing the competition, I simultaneously developed a much more intimate relationship with the athletes themselves, as they saw me as a team member rather than just a photographer.

Over the weekend, we successfully tested our fast-sending and remote control services operated with our private equipment. Thus, remote cameras could be used in multiple fixed positions simultaneously, and the sending of images took on a fast and efficient form.

I would also like to thank the club leaders for entrusting me with photographing their competitors! I'm curious to see what tomorrow brings.
bye!
MY PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO
I've been working up the courage to give my work such an official form for 10 years. Let me tell you a little about it.
Hello, Dear Visitor!

On this website (surprise coming) you can see the results of more than 10 years of work by photographer László Zsigmond and in some cases the results what I made in teams. Allow me to tell you a little about this website, about myself! – If you are not interested in the text, feel free to click on the portfolio tab and you can get to know my work, if you are interested…. :D

November 2024, marked the tenth anniversary of my life as a full-time photographer. During this time, I had the opportunity to try myself in almost every area that interests me in this profession. In 10 years, a significant part of which was spent in connection with the press, an unmanageable amount of photographs and data accumulated, which made the idea of portfolio making to a fearsome, endless story.
From the November anniversary to the publication of this website, I had to deal with this continuously for a little over 3 months. Three months with my succeses, and with my failures. I have to say, because of this huge amount of memories, sometimes I was shure, that I shoulnt do this. But here we are....

Perhaps, there are those who, like me, ask the question: what is taking this so long? I still can’t give a clear answer, but it was definitely a huge challenge for me to decide which elements of my work I want to highlight and show.

It’s impossible to put everything into one and only portfolio, and I think what I’ve collected here is too much for a more “picky” and sophisticated observer. But one thing is for sure, anyone who is interested in what I do and how, will find out.
The following conversation, which occurs almost every week, will definitely be different from now on:

- What do you do for a living?
- I’m a photographer!
- And what do you usually photograph?

and at this point, I don’t think there is a good answer, at least I haven’t found one yet. But from now on, there will be this site, to show... Its really a great feeling. Then the chatter I've been getting several times a month since Covid19:

- I saw your dogs, they're really beautiful. Have you stopped taking photos for shure?
- What do you mean? – I didn't stop, it's my profession, it's my life and I hope it stays that way.

So hurray, the day has come, a striking, short and unequivocal answer to such conversations was born:

I think that if someone takes the 5-8 minutes to scroll through the pictures, they will be able to form a definite opinion about whether they like what I do. There will certainly be many who don't, and I can happily recommend a colleague to them. Fortunately, there are many great photographers and I'm glad that I can consider many of them my friends.
Thank you for visiting, have a nice look, if you just want to enjoy yourself, I recommend the dance subpage 😉

May the Light Be With You,
László
